Since our first session in 2000, we have conducted more than thirty-five workshops in numerous locations in the United States, South Africa, Uganda, Australia, Brazil, and Canada. Workshops have focused on stories that explore child sexual abuse and intimate partner violence, the relationship between gender and HIV transmission, the vulnerability of labour migrants and their families, the shame and isolation of obstetric fistula, the challenges of community reintegration for former child soldiers, and other health and human rights issues.

Our commitment to contextualizing stories, ensuring that storytellers and collaborating partners decide on where and how they are shown, and promoting purposeful screenings in local community settings leads us to offer only a limited selection of story examples here. Additional links to Silence Speaks stories can be found among the Case Studies.
